Chemical evacuation...!! 8/26/13

Okay, I don't have any foreign sisters around me to ask how to say Hello in another language... so sorry to disappoint!! haha.
BUT -- HOLA!! :D
First & foremost... HAPPY EARLY BIRTHDAY MAMI!!! :D :D :D

Temple Square is one unique place - that is for sure. To add to the craziness I've been sharing these past couple weeks, I have another to add. Not sure if you saw Temple Square on the Utah news... but last Thursday there was a custodian who accidently mixed two wrong chemicals together, Sulfuric Acid and Chlorine. Not sure if anyone knows what happens when they get mixed, but it turns into a really dangerous airborne gas. It went into the air vents and spread throughout the ENTIRE South Visitors Center. That's where most of the sisters are because of the kitchen and lounge in the basement. I was at a desk right when you walk into the visitors center and I started smelling something that smelt like something burning and a pool. Immediately the worst came to my head and I thought it was like a bomb or something and so my companions and I called security. A couple minutes later they were evacuating the building and we were all so confused on what happened, but comforted when the custodian came upstairs and called security right away too. I had a really bad headache for a while but it faded after a couple of hours. They ended up closing off a whole section of Temple Square and the South Gate entrance. Between Temple Square and the City Creek Mall the entire road was closed down and it was full of ambulances. They had all the sisters who were affected by the smell get checked out by the medical examiners from the fire department. All of the sisters are okay now, but it was quite the adventure. :)
