Back on the square!!! 5/19/14

Helllo friends & familia!! :D

I arrived back to temple square on Wednesday safe & sound!! So much craziness to update you on but I will try to keep it semi-brief. It is SO weird not being in Louisiana anymore and not being fed cajun food! I miss it way too much (but i did see Tony's at wal-mart today! :D) I had a bit of a culture shock coming back and not seeing any black people. Totally weird. Just full of white people from all over the world! lol! Sisters have been making fun of me for saying "yall" and "yes ma'am" I dont know how long it will take for me to get out of the habit.. but i like it!!!

My new companion is Sister Tsang. She is from Hong Kong but she moved to England when she was a teenager so she speaks really good english with a british accent. I have to say, it is definitely entertaining to say the least! haha. She is a little reserved and kind of awkward at times but I'm sure we will get closer the more we are together, she likes to work hard so it makes being at Temple Square refreshing. :)

I have an assignment of being a district leader now that I'm back - which is quite a hefty responsibility especially since I'm trying to learn all the new protocols on everything that our new mission president changed! I absolutely love the girls that I am in charge of helping and training and whatnot, they are all so good & I just hope the Lord can make me feel much more adequate of doing something like this than i do right now!

Oh fun thing. SHOUT OUT TO THE NIELSEN FAMILY! <3 haha! Yesterday I got to see them here on Temple Square. Talk about a highlight! :) Love you all sooooo much!! I missed being able to do that.

I got to see David Archuleta on Saturday. He was in the North Visitors Center talking with some people about the New Testament pictures of Christ that are all along the wall. It was pretty funny watching the sisters try to find an excuse to pass him.

To be completely honest, i dont have much to say this week. I'm still trying to get everything all settled down now that I'm here again. I missed seeing these sisters. We have this new weird schedule that only some sisters follow now and I will never be on Temple Square after 6:30pm (except for sundays and thursdays until 7:30) because we have uninterrupted study time. so we do our studies in the night time and other sisters do it in the morning. Its good because now we all have no excuse not to get our studies done, which is nice. but, i dont have much of an attention span by the end of the night so that's the not so fun part.

We have been super busy taking Spanish and Mandarin tours since I've been back. I think teaching people so frequently is something i miss more than i realized. We had this reallly really powerful lesson we taught to all these chinese university students from New York and by the end of the lesson this man comes up to me and tells me "You can see the difference between your smile and ours. Yours is pure and true happiness. You can see it comes from within your heart" Tell me that wouldn't melt your heart!! It sure did mine.

I hope that you all have a wonderful week. I'm sorry this email is not too fun.
:)
Take care,
love you all so much!!!
