Hello hello familia and friends!!
This week has been so awesome!! I want to start off with my Subject.
General Conference!!! Did any of you watch it? We had to be on temple square from 730 am til 10pm with 20 minute meals each day. I was SO BEAT!!!! hahaha. I slept like a baby though and today we got to sleep in til 10. Talk about Heavenly blessings!!! I must say, I have totally learned how lucky I am to be serving right at the Headquarters of the church! For real. Like, I think it has really really sunk into me this weekend. So many people regularly ask me, what did you do to get to serve here? I have NO idea, but I'm so thankful. During General Conference over 100,000 people walk on these grounds and we have the privilege of meeting and uplifting just a tiny little sliver of that. But the rewards are marvelous and I LOVE the gospel of Jesus Christ. I've got to see so many lovely people and my heart is just so filled with joy and gratitude. I think one of my favorite parts about serving on Temple Square is that they play general conference on speakers outside so everyone walking around can hear. The best part is the prayers. & you want to know why?? Well, well... during the prayers. EVERYONE STOPS TO PRAY. Even if youre in the middle of walking, people just stop to pray. (of course there are very few exceptions) but the majority have enough respect for God to do such a thing. I just find it to be so so filling. I love it.
I met some really awesome young people and inspired 2 girls to go serve missions and to start their paperwork. ♥♥♥ I think everyone should go and serve the Lord.
Other thing, last night at like 8pm we had a big meeting with all the sisters and our mission president and stuff. They allowed us to watched the film Meet the Mormons that is coming out to theaters - TOTALLY FOR REAL - on the 10th! So awesome!!!!! It literally made me cry at one point and I just want everyone to please please make an effort to go watch it. So inspiring and totally perfectly made to help clear up so many of the misconceptions of our faith. If anything, just watch to increase your knowledge! Totally worth it. And it was pretty funny too!

This week we deep cleaned our apartment that hadn't been deep cleaned in over 20 years. -__- Talk about sick nasty grossness. We washed our walls and behind the stove and fridge and in every corner and crevice of the apartment and I have never felt the spirit so strong in there SINCE! Best decision the mission could have made. We were dead tired after, but I feel so happy inside now!! haha. Cleanliness is next to Godliness!!
I want to share the experience that Tanner had in finalizing his decision to be baptized on the 25th of October. I need to share this before I continue... In the bible, in Genesis 7 - God tells Noah that he places a rainbow in the sky to remind us that he always keeps his promises. When we are baptized, we make a 2 way promise with God. God sets out the standards and when we are baptized we sign the contract and tell god we will obey the commandments and he will in return bless us immeasurably.
We finally got him in touch with his local elders and had a really great lesson with him, he left the lesson having closed it with a prayer himself (asking the Lord to help guide him) and then he told me that when he was going home that I texted him (which was true... haha) I asked him how he liked the elders and thanked him for coming. and this is what he said back "I enjoy spending time with you two and learning this new knowledge. And yeah they are pretty awesome!... Also, driving home I saw something that made me decide that yes, I will be having my baptism on the 25th" AHHH I just about died inside and waited til he came back to find out why he decided that and he told me that after he received that text he looked at his phone for a second, then looked up and saw a double rainbow to his left. He said he just felt inside that it was the answer to his prayer. Which, I don't think he understood that rainbows actually mean what I described they do... but when i mentioned that. the elders, tanner, and my companion were all just amazed. It really was the Lord showing his mercy and guidance to Tanner and so he is set for his baptism date! That had to be one of the greatest highlights of my week.

The other highlight was that on Thursday we had a pre-general conference pump up kind of thing and we were talking about how to find the ones that are ready and I stood up and made a comment about the importance of enthusiasm as we share our message because thats how we will find the people the Lord is preparing. I shared my favorite quote
"The only thing more contagious than enthusiasm is the lack of enthusiasm"
and then president TOTALLY calls me out and says in front of ALL of the sisters "Coming from the sister who got (x) about of new investigators last week" I immediately turned super super red hahahah. Because it was so embarrassing. We found a LOT of people to teach last week and I went to president to tell him how I was feeling overwhelmed and then in our next mission wide meeting he says that. Super humbling thats for sure. My companion was laughing because I turned so red. Then later that day some zone leaders came up to me and said "Sister, we want to talk to you... " I was like "Oh jeeze... haha what did i do?!" and they were like "Some sisters in our zone have really been struggling finding people to teach, and we are too... we figured that we obviously aren't doing something right and were wondering if you could teach us. Could we have a companionship study together sometime this week and role play?" I was like WHOA! Totally not expecting that, but most definitely! So, we did that with them the next day and shared with them how I teach and stuff and they tried it out that day and found 3 new investigators and 2 potential investigators! They were SO excited and have been telling so many sisters that another companionship wants me to help them! I was just so so soo humbled by the experience and I'm just so happy that I've been able to help the other sisters in my mission. Honestly though! I could hardly believe that. I am so happy.
I fully believe the Lord is really moving forward in his work. We are here to lead to guide and to inspire and I just want to keep helping the Lord in any way that I can.
PLEASE WATCH MEET THE MORMONS!!!! :D
Love you all so much!
