Yaaaay!!! E-mailing time!! My absolute favorite part of p-day for SURE. I just love getting pictures from you all!! Dad - I hope you had a SUPER awesome birthday. I LOVEEEE YOU more than words can describe. ♥♥♥
I've been trying to take more pictures lately while on the square because I realized how I literally don't have ANY from Temple Square. Thing is.. it gets difficult because we can't take pictures ourselves so we just have to beg and plead people to send the pictures to our e-mails. But this week we got so manyyy!!! waaahoo!!! :D Haha.
We have had SUCH an incredible week. And plus, so many of our investigators have started progressing and ahh! We couldn't be happier. One of our 17 yr old investigators is getting baptized this saturday!!!! Her name is Erika!! Sister Diaz has been teaching her for MONTHS and she is finally making this decision that can and will impact the rest of her life ♥ We couldn't be happier. She is all alone in this - does not have ANY support from her family BUT she has a huge desire and an incredible knowledge of the validity of the Book of Mormon and how it is evidence that Christ's church has been restored through the Prophet Joseph Smith. I love her.
Rosa Rosittttaaaa. She is our golden gem that fell from heaven! Literally!!! Remember how a while ago I was talking about sacrifice and we found this super cute hispanic lady at the end of one of our tours we had 0 desire to take? Well, she now has a baptism date for her birthday on the 26th of August!!! She was originally born in Peru but lived in Mexico for years and loves me extra much because I'm Mexican. :D She married a man in California but she left him not too long ago because it was a mentally and one time physically abusive man. So she took what she could and left. Right now she is staying in a homeless shelter :( But she is SO precious. She graduated from a reallly incredible university in Peru. Universidad San Marcos. She is really trying to get on her feet here in Salt Lake and I just wish I could do more for her than I am capable of as a missionary. She has an incredible amount of faith in God and knows that he sent her to Salt Lake City for a reason. She told me the first day she met me she was seeking direction from God and TADAAA -- here we found her on the square. Beautiful. Just beautiful! She calls us her angelitas and told us we are family to her. ♥ We started teaching her the commandments, like the Word of Wisdom (a health code within our church), Law of Chastity (remaining sexually pure until marriage and staying faithful after, etc.) and paying Tithing and fast offering && by simply mentioning what it was -- SHE TAUGHT US!!!!! Like literally it was the coolest thing everrrr. We are working on getting her to attend an established ward (not the homeless branch anymore..) and she is super excited! So incredibly willing to be self-reliant. I just LOVE her. We will take a picture sometime soon!!
Also, Toure from my first transfer.... not sure if you remember him. He was a big awesome teddybear of a guy who was baptized -- He reaches his year mark on the 18th and has his interview today to get his TEMPLE RECOMMEND!!!! YES (THIS is REAL LIFE!) I am SOOO excited for him. He's like "Sister Cuevas, you HAVE to be there when I go through for the first time. Please, can you come?!" I am like if you pick a temple within the salt lake valley you bet your bottom dollar that I can!!

Awesome day. He told us his whole life story the other day when he came, it was Sister Diaz's first experience with a Black guy who used to live a VERY not christ-centered life. Afterwords I had to teach her all these words that are super not good to use just so she could understand what he was saying about his past. hahahahhah. just made me laugh. I love her.
So, some kind of creepiness going on. We had some security people the other night in between two of the sister missionary apartment complexes because we had a peeping tom. AGAIN. So weird to even think about. For safety precautions we now have to go home in 3 companionships if its after
8pm. Which is fine because we leave at 730 for early studies anywho. hahah. But still - our poor roommates are all like AHHH -_- hahahha.
I found this quote by C.S. Lewis while reading a talk from this past General Conference. It goes "I pray because I can't help myself... I pray because the need flows out of me all the time, waking & sleeping. It doesn't change God. It changes me." & isn't that the truth? I just LOVE praying. I literally take like at LEAST 10 minutes to pray at night. I know God is hearing my prayers and I also know that He is mindful of me as his daughter and as He is for each of YOU. We are all his beloved children and he knows us perfectly.
Well, Love you all so much!!!
ATTN: Family ---- you might be the only ones to understand the subject of this e-mail.. hahahhah. I told sister diaz how we would find windurri hairs everywhere, even when we go on vacations & she finds my chinos everywhere too, so thats what she said. I died laughing.
Love you love you love you!
Please don't stop sending pictures!! & enjoy the ones I've attached. :D
Love,
Sister Corina Selene Cuevas
