Wow, I really love my life right now so so so much! Sister Diaz is seriously the best, ever! We are having SUCH an awesome time teaching and finding together in Spanish. & her Argentinian accent just takes the cake and for sure. I totally have an excuse to go visit Argentina and one day in my life I will make it happen!! haha..
We have had so many laughs this week & it is so awesome to seek out all of the Latinos on the Square. We haven't had a chance to actually take a tour yet in the Humanitarian Center because we were doing training -- this week has kind of been a lot of getting things all organized. Especially since all the sisters in my district changed & I have a new sister from Madagascar in my district! So cool. This transfer is going to just be so extremely great. I am so excited!
The only things that I really feel I want to write this week are of two experience. Last Monday I was at wal-mart and there was this guy who was waiting - as well as we were for other sisters -- and so I just said hello and continued talking with sis. tsang.. but then he just came up to me and asked "so why do all of these people in walmart today have these badges on, are you apart of a group or something?" hahah... so then i explained we are missionaries at Temple Square and we asked if he had ever been there before and he said no and i invited him and he said he would come!! He said at first "I'm not exactly sure if I am allowed to go in there, after everthing I have done, i mean look at me.." and he was just a normal guy with some tattoos and I was like "NOOO!! You are totally welcome!!" and so anyways i called him and set up a time for him to come to the square on wednesday!! He was telling me all about how he was in jail and how he might be getting on paraole now because of something else he did, etc. but I felt like such a tool in the Lord's hands as I testified to him that Jesus Christ loves him no matter what and that he can always change. We talked about having all of his sins be completely washed away and he said he never knew it was even possible for him to start over. BUT HE CAN! We allllll can! That is what makes Jesus Christ so special and so important. No matter how many mistakes we have made or how far we have gone, we can always always come back. Jesus died so that we could do that. There is this INCREDIBLE mormon message of this guy and his personal experience feeling unforgivable. Watch it!
The Savior Wants to Forgive
Today we also took around this family in Spanish. They were from Mexico, California, Texas, Utah, & Arizona. It was a big family reunion. The mom is from Mexico and she had her 5 children and the 17 grandchildren there! It was such an incredible sight. They are all LDS and we took them throught his presentation "God's Plan for His Family" which the kids really enjoyed and okay.. so for real.. I honestly watch that film AT LEAST once every single day... but as I saw every single spot filled, with children on the floor just watching this video, my eyes honestly filled with tears. The message that this church has about how familys can honestly and truly continue their family relationships after the grave by being sealed together in holy temples for time and for all eternity is the absolute most inspiring message.. I know that one day in my future, I hope to live the gospel faithfully enough to have my personal future posterity be as united and hope filled as theirs was. It was a very touching experience for me. I know that family is so central in God's plan for his children here on earth. I LOVE my family & I can't wait to see you all again soon! Less than 6 months!!!
Well, I love you all so much! & I really hope you love me enough to send me a letter/email. :D Love you love you love you!
Love,
Sister Corina Selene Cuevas
p.s. some fun things:
- I am learning Argentinian slang... bahah. My compy is crazzy..
- We die laughing comparing how much more Latinos talk over the phone than Caucasians.
