Sacrifice brings blessings!!! ♥ 7/14/14

Helllo everyone!!!

Today has been such an awesome day!! So far today I got a package from Gene & Lindsey with tons of Louisiana food!!!! I got some Jambalaya mix and Tony's and Hot Sauce! I LOVE my lifeeee!!! & Also, my mission presidient from outbound finished his time serving there and came to temple square i got to see him just about an hour ago.. so that was really wonderful!! talk about bringing me back to think about louisiana. I loved my time there. It was seriously such a big step in my mission and growing experience for me for sure! ♥

This week I have seen tons and tons and TONS of miracles from understanding the importance of sacrifice and going the extra mile even when we are way exhausted. We have found SO many investigators together it is UNREAL. As a result though... I think my body is so tired - it is like literally falling apart. But the miracles that come as a result of putting myself in the Lord's hands has been so incomparable to any other feeling I can think of. My back aches, foot aches, and head aches are nothing compared to being able to participate in people coming closer to Jesus Christ and to Heavenly Father. Seriously, nothing compares. I'd be willing to do anything to feel the happiness of doing this work. So much happiness. I just want to share an experience from yesterday that happened. We were so tired because we had been taking tours all day long and we had just sat down for dinner and were able to eat our food and immediately after we were done.. we got a text for 3 spanish in the north visitors center. (we typically get an hour for dinner to take a break, but we are supposed to always be available) and so we just reluctantly look at the phone and i say to sister diaz "Do you want to take it?" and we just look at each other for a minute because we knew what we should do and what we wanted to do... but she just said. "whatever you want sister" and so i called into westgate to take it. So we go up and meet these 3 men from Durango (which is where my mami is from! :D ) & they were nice people, it was just an average tour, they were interested, which was great too.. but then we got to the temple model to explain more of the inside of the temple to them and i left sis diaz with them and went to go get some materials to give... when this cute mexican lady just comes up behind me and starts talking to me. She was super sweet and was saying how she saw my flag and wanted to come and talk. She then said she is looking for a job here in Utah and shes not sure why Utah but she just felt it was right and then she expressed how she was looking for direction in her life, etc. it was absolutely incredible. I invited her to join us in the tour and then at the end they ALL ended up taking Book of Mormons and referred to continue to learn more with us! AND this cute lady ended up staying a little bit after and we set up a time for her to come back and we are going to work on getting her a job around here in Salt Lake. She started bawling her eyes out when we told her we would do our best to help and she just expressed how much peace and joy she was feeling within her heart. We left that tour thinking  " If we would have stayed for dinner... we would have never met Rosa." That sacrifice was for her.
I think about the concept of sacrifice and what an incredible blessing it is to know we have someone who sacrificed his LIFE for us. For EACH and EVERY single person to find a way in returning to be with God again. Someone who suffered more than I every will in this life for another person or thing. I know that Christ has already suffered for all of the pains I will feel in my body. My has brought me so so close to Jesus Christ because I have realized just how much I need to rely on Him to keep moving forward.

I am going to add pieces of the definition of Sacrifice for us while testifying of this.. "In addition to remembering the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ, [true disciples of Jesus Christ] offer their own sacrifice: a broken heart and a contrite spirit. The Savior said: “Ye shall offer up unto me no more the shedding of blood; yea, your sacrifices and your burnt offerings shall be done away. . . . And ye shall offer for a sacrifice unto me a broken heart and a contrite spirit. And whoso cometh unto me with a broken heart and a contrite spirit, him will I baptize with fire and with the Holy Ghost” (3 Nephi 9:19-20). To have a broken heart and a contrite spirit is to be humble and receptive to the will of God and to the counsel of those He has called to lead His Church. It also means to feel deep sorrow for sin and a sincere desire to repent. The prophet Lehi emphasized the importance of offering this sacrifice: “Behold, [Christ] offereth himself a sacrificefor sin, to answer the ends of the law, unto all those who have a broken heart and a contrite spirit; and unto none else can the ends of the law be answered” (2 Nephi 2:7)"
I know that we all have different things we can sacrifice to come closer to Christ. We all go through phases in our lives that will truly bring us closer to HIM. I am so grateful for the eternal sacrifice that Christ made for us. His sacrifice makes everything in this life worthwhile. All the pains and trials I go though - I know he already felt. That's why He can be EVERYONES best friend. He know us perfectly.

I love you all so much! Thank you for being there for me!!!
Love,
Sister Corina Selene Cuevas

p.s.
-Update on my back - pain has come back SO bad since I've returned to Temple Square. I will probably be going to see a doctor about it. :'(
-Argentina Lost..... SO SAD!!!!!
- I think this is the only mission in the world where we get to have our own "Girls Camp"!! :D We went to Brightons Girls Camp again this year. We all had t-shirts and everything. It was an really neat experience. Half the mission went in the morning and the other half went in the afternoon! It was awesome because every activity we did we tied back to the Savior and His gospel. ♥ I attached pictures for you! I got to go zip-lining!
